Following a prolonged period of exceptionally warm weather across the Ruhr Area, Manifesta 16 has taken the precautionary decision to close all Manifesta 16 Ruhr venues on Sunday the 28th of June. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience caused.

This closure means that all events scheduled within Manifesta 16 venues will also be cancelled or postponed, see the programme page for details.

Over the past two weeks, our church venues have provided a welcome respite from the heat. However, after several consecutive days of high temperatures, the buildings have now accumulated significant heat and are no longer expected to provide the same level of comfort for staff, volunteers and visitors.

As Manifesta is closed on Mondays and temperatures are forecast to drop significantly from Monday onwards, we expect to reopen as normal on Tuesday the 30th of June.
