Manifesta 16 Youth Shift Summit
On the weekend of 25th and 26th of April, the Youth Shift group reunited at the Salvador Allende House in Oer-Erkenschwick for the Youth Shift Summit.
On Saturday, the focus was on designing a map for young people. The group explored various city maps and experimented with different materials and techniques during an extended creative session. Divided into smaller groups, the members of the Youth Shift - which functions as a youth council within Manifesta 16 Ruhr - had the opportunity to discuss and reflect on different designs and concepts for their ideal map. The session concluded with each group presenting their ideas to the others.
On Sunday, the day began with a presentation on the topic of the European Youth Capital by Maja Tölke (Department of Education and Social Affairs, Regionalverband Ruhr), during which the group contributed their own ideas for a potential Youth Capital.
After dinner, Mahdi (Youth Shift member and temporary intern) and Timur (Education Intern) gave presentations on virtual exhibitions. In the evening, after a long and productive day, the group relaxed by playing Werewolf together. This positive weekend brought together a great group of young, engaged people who are committed to contributing to and shaping Manifesta 16 Ruhr.
